Week 22 of 2013 Season

Expected Harvest:

  • lettuce mix is back again

  • bok choy – baby or large, white-stemmed joi choi
  • broccoli
  • broccoli raab
  • eggplant (limited quantities–last of the season)
  • fennel (please see below for recipes)
  • garlic – Siberian
  • kale – lacinato, red Russian or winterbor
  • kohlrabi
  • mesclun
  • onions – red and yellow
  • peppers – a mix of purple and  ripe red and yellow peppers
  • potatoes – purple viking (red-skinned, white interior) and satina (yellow skin and interior)
  • radish, French Breakfast
  • radish, watermelon
  • scallions
  • spinach
  • sweet potatoes
  • tatsoi
  • tomatoes – cherry, paste, red slicers and a mixed variety of heirlooms
  • turnips, hakurei – a sweet, raw turnip which is great raw or cooked.  You can also cook and eat the greens.

We still have a few things still to come including cauliflower, cabbages (red, green, and savoy), collards, leeks, purple top and gold ball turnips, rutabaga, parsnips, fingerling potatoes, and more carrots.
