Week 9 of 2013 Season

Expected Harvest:New this week

  • okra
  • tomatillos

Plus more of…

  • beans – yellow wax and maxibel (limited quantities)
  • beets – red
  • cabbage, red and green varieties
  • carrots – orange and rainbow mix
  • cucumbers – slicing and pickling varieties (limited quantities)
  • eggplant – mixed varieties
  • flowers – bouquests of zinnias and black-eyed susans
  • garlic – Spanish Roja
  • onions – red torpedo, white wing and purplette
  • peppers – green and purple bell
  • potatoes – dark red norland and augusta
  • scallions
  • summer squash and zucchini (limited quantities)
  • sweet corn – a bi-color variety (see below for recipes)
  • swiss chard – rainbow mix
  • tomatoes – cherry, red slicers and a mixed variety of heirlooms

Bonus:

  • basil
  • parsley
  • mixed hot peppers

Coming soon & Other field news:

We may have melons (jenny lind, cantalope, and watermelons) today, but we won’t be sure until we take a good look out in the field.  And, if not this week, it looks like we should have some ready next week.
